Nias Island is a small island located just off the west coast of Sumatra, Indonesia. The name of this island was given because it resembles the flower “nisus”. Nias also has the same name of the archipelago, in which the
island is located, but consists of all the islands to the north-western and south-eastern parts respectively. Nias Island covers an area of approximately 5,626.0 square kilometers. Outlying areas of Nias Island include Batu Islands, South Ubud, Banyan Tree, Bophut, Lanaias, Lembongan Island and Pulau Nias.
Nias Island’s main attractions are its picturesquely beautiful beaches. In particular, the island has been famous for its five-star resorts.
