Lake Toba – One Giant Volcano

Lake Toba is located on the east coast of Sumatra, an island nation in Southeast Asia. This lake is considered as one of the most important lakes in the world. It is also known as the “blue lake” because of its rich green waters. The lake has been a major tourist attraction since early times of Asian history. In fact, the lake is said to have the richest wildlife in the whole of South East Asia. The lake toba has become a world heritage site for the country of Indonesia.
This gigantic volcanic eruption is the main reason why the lake today is such an attraction to many tourists. The island of Sumatra is at the very south tip of South East Asia. Sumba is at the very north tip of the island. The two cities share a long border, which was seen by the first generation of travelers looking for an easy way to reach the Indochina Island from South East Asia.
