The environment is now not only discussed by environmental activists. The public is increasingly aware of the importance of protecting the environment, including on campus. That is what causes more and more applications of the concept of green campus to appear in Indonesia.

The environmental problem is indeed a common problem that must be resolved by all elements of society including the academic community on campus. Good quality of the environment will certainly have a positive impact on the lives of living things.

    Definition of Green Campus

The application of the green campus concept not only shows that the location of the campus is overgrown with many green trees. Campuses that apply this concept must also be able to utilize their resources effectively and efficiently.

Resources that must be used effectively and efficiently such as electricity, water, paper, and stationery. Besides, of course, waste management on campus must also be managed very well.

The goal of developing the concept of a green campus is to reduce the adverse impact of operating a campus on the surrounding environment. A large campus with a large number of students naturally requires greater resources.

The resources needed to operate a large campus are even more than the resources to operate a company. Therefore, large campuses should apply the concept of effective and efficient use of resources.

    2. Green Energy

This element aims to enable a campus to develop renewable energy. For example, such as a campus located near a large river, it is expected that the campus can build a hydropower plant.

    3. Green Building
