Young age does not mean that you can ignore health. Especially if you are a student who has a solid activity. Having lots of activities certainly makes it difficult for you to manage your time and tends to be an unhealthy lifestyle.
Unhealthy lifestyles such as irregular eating, rarely exercise, and often sleep late at night can make you more susceptible to disease. Therefore, change those bad habits by applying some healthy tips for the following students.

    Tips for Maintaining Student-style Health

    Tips Sehat Mahasiswa

    1. Eat regularly at least 3 times a day

One of the main needs of humans to live is eating. Therefore you must always maintain a minimum of 3 dietary patterns a day. Unfortunately, many people, including students, often skip breakfast because they did not have time because they were busy.

You need to know that breakfast is very important for the body, so don’t forget to eat breakfast. Why is breakfast important? The main reason is that when you wake up, your blood sugar levels are quite low, whereas blood sugar functions to make the muscles and brain work optimally.

Breakfast of course can also provide energy so that you become more focused while in college. If you don’t have time to eat breakfast, at least you need to bring snacks that contain high protein such as granola bars or biscuits to consume on the way to campus.

When lunching, try to find a menu that is rich in carbohydrates such as rice or bread. Complete with side dishes that contain protein and don’t forget to eat vegetables too. Don’t even miss dinner even if you only eat fruit such as bananas or apples.

Dinner will prevent you from starving in the middle of the night and the end, you instead consume fast food or instant noodles that are not good for health. Paying attention to what you consume is indeed very important to do.

Avoid fast foods, foods with too high calories, and also don’t forget to reduce salt and sugar consumption. Also, make sure you consume more vegetables and fruits that are rich in vitamins.

    2. Exercise Routine

Other healthy tips for other students are regular exercise. Currently quite a lot of campuses that provide a fitness center. Some campuses hold gymnastics together every week for free. The simplest way to exercise is by walking and going up and downstairs.

As a student especially if you live in a boarding house that is quite close to the campus, you should leave and go home from campus on foot. Besides being able to save costs, walking is certainly more healthy.

    3. Get enough sleep

Humans need to sleep for 7-9 hours every night. However, under the pretext of doing assignments, quite a lot of students are used to staying up late. Though the habit of staying up late that night harms body health.

Lack of sleep can harm the human body, ranging from prolonged fatigue, headaches to decreased brain function. Besides, people who often get less sleep usually tend to get angry easily.

There are several steps you can take so that you can get enough sleep for at least 8 hours each night, including such as:

    • Take 30 minutes to 1 hour to take a nap
    • Create a comfortable bedroom atmosphere to wear to rest and sleep. If necessary, turn off the lights.
    • Drink plenty of water and if necessary before bed, drink warm milk.
    • Don’t drink coffee at night

    4. Avoid cigarettes and coffee

Students usually choose cigarettes to run for when they start feeling stressed. Though the effects caused by smoking for the body is very negative. Some studies have stated that smoking can adversely affect all organs in the human body.

Therefore, avoid smoking or if you are currently a heavy smoker start reducing cigarettes so that you can gradually stop. If you succeed in not smoking anymore then you will feel more long-term benefits for the body.

In addition to cigarettes, you should also not drink too much coffee, especially coffee with added sugar. Sweet coffee is indeed delicious and makes you not easily sleepy. Therefore, usually, students who work on assignments until late at night prefer to drink coffee.

But did you know that the combination of coffee and sugar took for a long period can be very detrimental to the health of the body? Therefore do not drink coffee too often. It’s better to consume high-protein foods and multiply fibrous foods.

    5. Drink plenty of water and if necessary drink vitamins

Talking about healthy tips a student style certainly can not be separated from the water. Humans need to drink water at least 8 glasses a day. If you drink lots of water then your concentration will continue to increase while meeting the amount of energy needed by the body.

Besides drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day, you also need to consume vitamins. Even though you feel healthy, you can make vitamins as an addition to protect the body so that you are not susceptible to disease.

    6. Hand Washing Machine

On-campus, of course, you will interact with many people, so your chances of getting infected with the disease will also increase. One way to prevent the virus from entering the body is to wash your hands diligently. Diligent hand washing is effective enough to make you avoid disease.

    7. Avoid Stress

Assignments that accumulate usually make students feel stressed especially if the assignments must be collected immediately. Stress makes students more susceptible to illness because stress can indeed reduce levels of body immunity.

One way that you can avoid stress is to take time to rest in total, for example by getting enough sleep about 8 hours a day. Besides, you need to relax so the mind can be calmer.

Relaxation can be done in various ways, such as chatting with friends, traveling, watching movies, and so forth. You should also make a daily schedule so that you can set adequate rest periods during your busy activities.

    8. Don’t Forget to Always Wear Sunscreen Before Outdoors

In addition to health-related to internal organs, you should not underestimate skin health. As a student, of course, you don’t just stay indoors so don’t forget to always apply sunblock before going to campus.
