    Spot Mini

The future of warfare and the US Military are both very likely to see a very advanced robotic battle field, or Robocop as it is often called, which uses the Spot Mini to engage in ground combat. One day you may wish you had one of these little robots with you. If you are like me and you spend a lot of your time out in the desert, terrain, and other rugged terrains then the prospect of being able to have one of these robotic killing machines with you should be very appealing. This will make a very exciting future for science fiction and movies alike.

When I was in college, we were all dreaming of robotic vehicles that could do our bidding in combat and we wanted them to look like big robots. These weapons of the future would have to be very sophisticated indeed, and we had to build them ourselves from scratch. In one of my classes we were discussing autonomous movement of robots and the concept of spot mini robotic insect swarms. I suggested that we use robotic insect swarms to drive our enemy into a position of vulnerability, where our robotic insect swarms could attack and kill thousands of enemy soldiers at once.

It has been more than twenty years since I first mentioned this idea in class, and yet I am still getting phone calls about it from students and researchers all over the world. So I write this article to ask all those aspiring roboticists out there, as well as the folks in military intelligence that you have given classified information to, that you please come up with a good future weapon system that we can use in the battlefield. Because if we cannot win the future wars, you might as well lose the future struggle to keep the peace and prevent future terrorist acts of aggression from humankind.

The technologies that I am talking about are the future technologies to use with the current Spot Mini or any of the robotic net-centric warfare platforms that we now have. For example, you might have small units mounted on vehicles like patrol cars or robots that will be able to operate independently with no human supervision. These units will operate using augmented reality technologies like Google’s self-driving cars. This technology also makes for a very realistic video game simulation which will allow us to train our future military robots for offensive or defensive missions, just like our future fighting troops are now training here at Fort Jackson, South Carolina.

Another exciting technology I’d like to introduce you to is the YouTube collaboration with futurists Mark Zucherberg and Robert Freville to develop the Google Hover autonomous vehicle. This concept will allow humans to control the robotic vehicles using YouTube video content. YouTube will use its search engine to locate videos containing certain keywords and then present them to the user if they are interested. In the future, all robotic soldiers will be controlled by YouTube. And you can bet that the YouTube robotic soldiers will not only go to different countries, but they will fight alongside UAV or unmanned aerial vehicles.

In an effort to improve safety and security for their soldiers, military bases are converting their greenhouses into artificial intelligent robotic garden robots. But instead of lettuce, these military bases will be incorporating artificial intelligent plants and even vegetables into the robot gardens to make it look more natural and a bit less like a giant greenhouse. The reason I say this is that in order to make a robot appear “natural” it has to be able to understand human language, as well as use it to interact with its environment in order to prevent accidents and misunderstanding. In addition, the plants will be interacting with each other using a collective nervous system to “talk” to each other. Google plans on applying their technologies to augmented reality using its own Point System and localization data to map the real world using crowdsourced information from real world data and crowd sourced sensors.

A very interesting concept that was brought up during the brainstorming session to convert our homes into artificially intelligent robotic systems was the idea of turning our homes into Littledogs. First, let me explain what a little dog is. A little dog is a robot, much like a hamster, that will walk around on all four feet and use its front two legs to propel itself around on all four legs. Its tail acts as a hindrance and only allows it to move forward.

This concept seems like it would be great for the military since we would be training soldiers to operate in military style environments. However, it would be impractical for a civilian setting and that is why Google’s research division was looking at using little dogs in a more realistic way. The team eventually developed what is now known as the Spot Mini. The original idea was to use a small, battery operated robot to walk around the house while collecting data on the “condition” of various rooms. Google’s research division then developed a four legged robot called the Spot Mini, which is still in development.

As you can see from the open doors concept, the spot mini is much more advanced than the previous robot. It will also have a better screen to give its owner a visual representation of the “room condition.” Google also plans on using this robot in several other future developments. They believe we are just at the beginning of robotic applications for humans and they are working on ways to make the future robotic device’s user friendly so that everyone can use them. As we know, humans will eventually become one of the most dominant species on earth and in the future the world will need robots to help run our civilization.
